EGS becomes HPEI

European Gateway Services (EGS), the intermodal network operator of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT), has changed its name and will now be operating under the new brand Hutchison Ports Europe Intermodal (HPEI).

As the new name indicates, the company will be focusing on its intermodal portfolio and form part of an integrated range of port-to-door services from ECT, HPEI said.

HPEI retains the same services as EGS, with its rail and barge connections as its core. It offers intermodal transports within a network of deep-sea terminals in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and Antwerp (Belgium) and several inland terminals as well as first and last mile trucking. (ben)
