E-tipper for more sustainability in Swedish mine
An electric Scania heavy tipper recently commenced operations in the LKAB mine in Malmberget, northern Sweden. The electric heavy tipper transports residual products and weighs a total of 49 t, including load. It’s the first of its kind in the mining industry, Scania said.
Scania and LKAB both operate in industries that are undergoing significant shifts to reach a higher level of sustainability. The two companies have joined forces to operate electric vehicles in LKAB’s mines. LKAB is striving to become a sustainable mining company. (ben)
