The official "social implementation project for a drone logistics platform in Tokyo" experiment will take place from today, 8 February to 10 February 2022 in Tokyo, one of the world's most densely populated areas with a population of approximately 14 million.
Japan Airlines used its operational and safety know-how to ensure sufficient safety management and established a flight system to enable demonstration, using a drone to cross several major bridges in the city for the first time, including the Eitai Bridge.
The "unassisted, non-visual flight in a manned zone" planned for FY/2022 aims to create a society that can provide immediate, on-demand transportation in times of emergency and disaster and deliver medicines on a daily basis, regardless of road congestion. (ah)
