DP World and Einride: partners in UAE
In the largest deployment of electric, autonomous freight mobility in the Middle East, the collaboration will electrify inter-terminal container flows at Jebel Ali Port (UAE), starting at the end of 2024. The partners plan to quickly scale up to support 1,600 container movements daily.
The project will deploy a fleet of 100 connected electric trucks that will be managed through Einride’s digital operating system designed to analyse, optimise, and maximise the efficiency of electric and autonomous road haulage operations. Once at full operational capacity, the initiative will save up to 14,600 t of CO2e and 158 t of nitrogen oxides (NOx) annually. (ben)
