Double decker logistics hub in Hamburg
In Hamburg, project developer Four Parx and investment and asset manager AEW are building Germany’s first logistics facility with two levels that offer equal options for use. The facility is expected to be completed by August 2021.
Four Parx is developing this project near the port on the former production site of the beverage manufacturer Refresco on an area covering about 100,000 sqm. The demolition works have already been completed, and the earthworks are now underway.
The building is divided into two levels. The upper floor can be reached by a 12 m high truck ramp that can be used for trucks weighing up to 45 t. The ramps lead to a 60 m wide shunting platform between the halls, on which the trucks can dock on to the loading bridges. To improve the use of the space even further, a car parking area will be built below the shunting platform, which will provide covered parking space for about 200 cars. (mw)
