Digitec Galaxus: more space and service
In Switzerland, Digitec Galaxus has found a new permanent warehouse solution to house its products. "Our business grew enormously during the Covid-19 pandemic. We therefore leased an owner-operated temporary storage facility in Nebikon, Lucerne,” said Michael Stolle, the company's chief operating officer (COO).
But the term of the lease was limited to one year. Now, Fiege is stepping in. The relocation to the Fiege warehouse in Oftringen was completed in March 2022. Some 50,000 maxi-sized products are stored for the shipper on 12,000 pallet spaces in the high-bay store – products that are simply too big to be shipped by parcel.
“Fiege handles incoming goods, inbound and outbound storage, readying for shipment as well as the hand-over to the postal service’s forwarders for us,” Stolle said. (sh)
