Digitalising 42,000 ULDs

Unilode, which owns and manages the world’s largest digitised fleet of ULDs (more than 170,000), and Qatar Airways Cargo have entered into a partnership to digitalise the airline’s fleet of more than 42,000 ULDs. The move represents the largest ULD digitalisation programme ever undertaken by any airline.

The partnership with the carrier will make sure Unilode’s tag and reader network is further extended to cover the carriage of ULDs on the airline’s global passenger and cargo network. The tag and reader network will be supported by ‘e-ULD’, Unilode’s mobile app and web portal, developed in-house, which enable real time visibility and tracking of ULDs.

Unilode’s ‘Enterprise Data Warehouse’ and customer portal, which provide the airline with enhanced data analytics to improve ULD utilisation and further reduce costs, are also part of the package. (ah)
