Developing zero emission railway maintenance gear
Epiroc is cooperating with the Sweden-based Railcare Group to equip its railway maintenance equipment with zero-emission battery technology. Railcare will also deploy the electric driveline technology used in Epiroc’s Minetruck MT42 battery.
Although the battery system was designed primarily with the mining industry in mind, it is also well suited for other types of machines.
As a result, Epiroc will start providing its electric driveline technology to Railcare, specifically for the company’s multi-purpose vehicles. Railcare plans to offer its first machines using Epiroc’s battery technology later this year. (ben)
