Dachser fleet and business growing
The haulier Dachser reached two milestone recently.
The first one concerns the introduction of its 100th fully electric truck for food logistics distribution. The 16 t ‘Volvo FL Electric’, which weighs more than 3.5 t, has a refrigerated body and will commence deliveries of fresh food in the Hamburg area of Germany soon. The unit is powered by a battery with a storage capacity of 375 kWh, which can reliably supply the refrigerating unit, whilst still permitting a range of around 300 km.
In other news, as we already reported in the ITJ Daily yesterday, it acquired all of the shares in Dachser Finland, a joint venture founded in 2013. The step fortifies the logistics provider’s overland transport network in northern Europe under the leadership of Peter Hut. (ben)
