Czech carrier to expand to Balkans
CD Cargo continues to expand into foreign markets, which is one of the four pillars of its long-term strategy. The joint-stock company recently established its new subsidiary, CD Cargo Adria.
With the new affiliate, the Czech national carrier aims to obtain all the necessary documents for the operation of railfreight transport in Croatia within a year at the latest.
The carrier sees the Balkans as an area with further room for expansion in future, in Slovenia and Serbia for example.
The connection to the ports in Rijeka and Ploce offers great potential in this regard. CD Cargo has been strengthening its position over the last two years. Now it already holds licences for operation in six European countries. (ben)
