Czech carrier grows abroad
According to the International Accounting Standards (IFRS), CD Cargo achieved a gross profit before tax of CZK 733 million (EUR 29.25 million) in 2023. The freight segment contributed a net profit of CZK 326 million (EUR 13 million) to the group’s consolidated result.
These improved results were mainly due to the continued growth of performances abroad and the rise of realisation prices, which compensated for the increase of most cost inputs, the carrier said.
CD Cargo transported more than 59.4 million t of goods in 2023, representing a year-on-year decrease of 4.8 million t. Performance on the domestic transport market was mainly marked by a sharp decline in the shipment of fossil fuels, the carrier said. (ben)
