Continental picks new head for speciality tyres
Gerd Bartels took over the management of the continental business area specialty tyres on 1 November 2023, with responsibility for tyre solutions and services for a wide range of industrial applications as well as two-wheel and racing tyres.
In his new role, Bartels will report directly to Christian Kötz, member of the executive board and head of the tyre business area. he succeeds Wolfgang Thomale, who recently became head of the surface solutions business area of the company’s industrial division.
Bartels has been with Continental's tyre division since 1994. He has held management positions at plant level, in the original equipment business and in the tyre replacement business. Most recently, he was head of controlling for the tire replacement business for passenger and commercial vehicle tyres in the Emea region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). (cj)
