Collecting milk without much noise
Swiss haulier J. Meier Grüt has taken delivery of a new Renault Truck D Wide P6×2 three-axle truck. Every day, from 23.00 h to 09.00 h, the vehicle is on the road collecting milk from local farmers in the Zurich Oberland. The 460 hp of the new truck are required to transport the milk tank (13,500 l) and the trailer (10,000 l).
Most importantly, the all-electric milk pump is much quieter to use and saves costs, the company says. The J. Meier fleet now comprises a dozen milk and cream collection vehicles, ten of which are Renault trucks. (ben)
