Chung Mong-Won elected to IIHF Hall of Fame
Halla group chairman Chung Mong-Won attended the ceremony, hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), as a new honorary member of the IIHF Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony, which had been postponed from May 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was held on 29 May in Tampere, Finland.
Chairman Chung (left) won the award in the Builder category of February 2020, which was presented to him by IIHF president Luc Tardif (right). The Builder Award recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of ice hockey as executives and administrators.
Chairman Chung has been a pioneer in the development of ice hockey and has helped make the sport more popular around the world, but especially in Asia. (cj)
