Chinese first quarter still strong
The Ningbo-Zhoushan port complex has reported a robust throughput in Q1/2022, with a container volume of 3.18 million teu in March, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year.
Over the first quarter, Ningbo-Zhoushan port expects to have handled 9.53 million teu, an uptick of 3.2%, while overall throughput increased by 3.7% to almost 258 million t of cargo.
The month of April will show whether the port was able to maintain the average daily container handling volume despite shutdowns. (sh)
