China opens assembly centre in Serbia
The New China-Europe express railway assembly centre was inaugurated last Saturday (7 September 2024) with a ceremony held in Indjija, northwest of Serbia’s capital Belgrade. At the event, which was attended by representatives from China and Serbia, the first specialised supply chain train for Shandong Linglong Tyre, a China-based tyre manufacturer, was presented.
The Serbian government expects the new assembly centre to play a crucial role in advancing Serbia's infrastructure and energy projects, positioning the country as a key logistics hub in the region. The Chinese delegation added that the facility will strengthen business ties between the two countries. (ben)
