Centralising distribution in Jeffersonville
Ryder System has opened a 92,903 sqm distribution centre for Lexmark, a specialist for imaging and IoT solutions. The hub is located in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Just across the river is Louisville, Kentucky, with good connections to river, road, rail, and airway networks.
Ryder Systems provides supply chain, dedicated transportation, and fleet management solutions. The new centre will consolidate two Lexmark operations into one. Built for efficiency, the centralised facility will enable 99% same-day shipping and 99% midnight parcel pick-up with next-day air service.
The deal also comes with the implementation of Ryder Share, a digital platform for supply chain management. Ryder’s transport management team has been collaborating with Lexmark for fourteen years. (mk)
