Central American Express launched
Having introduced its first service linking the US Gulf Coast with Brazil and other parts of South America in March 2020, the Chinese shipping company Cosco now adds a new route from the United States to Central America - in a joint operation.
Cosco will run its new Gulf Central America Express (GCX) together with CMA CGM. The Marseille-based carrier will deploy two of the three 1,000 teu ships.
The port rotation will be as follows: Houston and Freeport in Texas, Puerto Cortes (Honduras), Puerto Barrios (Guatemala), Cartagena (Colombia), Kingston (Jamaica), Puerto Cortes, Puerto Barrios and back to Houston. (cd)
