Carbon-free overnight trucking
PGS Global Logistics (PGS) in the UK has added a Volvo FM EV 4x2 tractor to its growing line-up of electric vehicles. To date, PGS operates ten e-vehicles in its warehouse facilities and on the road.
The haulier will use the new vehicle for overnight trucking in its operations for the Pallet-Track network and APC Overnight parcel network. It will be charged by day from solar generated energy.
The Volvo FM EV Globetrotter tractor unit features six batteries producing 490 kw (666 bhp). PGS is planning to add more e-vehicles to its fleet in 2024. (ben)
