Canada: new rules for transport registration
Canada’s ministry of transport has launched a new online platform for registering and identifying persons and organisations that import, offer transport services, handle, or transport dangerous goods in Canada.
The aim of the new registration system is to reduce risks associated with dangerous goods. With the new regulations, which are now in force, relevant persons or organisations must provide the above information on goods, operators and carriers in the new database.
They must also enter information about sites where dangerous goods are being imported, offered for transport, handled, or transported. These data must be updated annually. (ben)
