Brand-new direct rail link between Rijeka and Enns
Maersk Line and CD Cargo Austria have launched the first regular railfreight connection from the Croatian port of Rijeka to Enns in Austria.
The first train bound for the Container Terminal Enns (CTE) recently departed from the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT). The block train is operated by Maersk Line with CD Cargo Adria providing rail services. With the new service, major Austrian shippers have access to a direct rail link to AGCT Rijeka for the first time ever.
Following the first ever direct trains to Czechia in May, the Austria – Rijeka connection further expands a growing network of regular weekly block trains which already include Serbia, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina. (ben)
