Bound4Blue lands second e-sail deal with Amasus
The European shipping provider Amasus has signed a new contract with Bound4Blue to install the world’s largest 22 m suction sail system on a 90 m general cargo vessel in 2025.
This comes after the successful use of two 17 m e-sails on the “Eems Traveller” since 2023, which helped reduce fuel consumption, operating costs, and emissions.
The new system, to be fitted at Astander Shipyard, is part of Amasus's strategy for more sustainable operations. The installation is expected to further improve efficiency and set new standards in wind-assisted propulsion for the shipping industry. (pb)
