Bilbao hosts sustainable ports conference
The second ‘International Sustainable Port Conference’, organised by the Bilbao Port Authority, gathered 300 logistics professionals and 40 speakers together to discuss sustainability in port operations.
The event, held at the Euskalduna Conference Centre and the Olatua Cruise Terminal, covered several key topics, including future trends, economic and environmental transition, social sustainability and innovation.
Sessions included discussions of European legislation, green financing, emissions reduction and the role of ports in the energy transition. Experts from industry, government and academia explored strategies to enhance sustainability in logistics.
The conference concluded with a focus on emerging professions and the future of smart port technologies. (js)
