Between Bremen, Emden and Osnabrück
C-Port on the Coastal Canal, which links the Dortmund-Ems Canal with the Hunte and Weser Rivers, welcomes a new freight forwarder seeking to expand its presence in Lower Saxony and northern Germany.
After a year of negotiations, Emons Spedition has acquired a 4 ha site at the port to strengthen its capacities in the area. The C-Port is located between Bremen, Emden and Osnabrück, which enables the forwarder to ship its goods by barge from the seaports of Bremerhaven and Rotterdam directly to its Coastal Canal branch for storage and order picking. The company will also add battery storage and recycling to the facility's portfolio.
Set to be completed by 2017, the forwarding facility at C-Port will include an administration building with room for 200 employees. (mk)
