Bergé and Gefco create JV
Bergé and Gefco have closed a joint venture deal to create a major finished-vehicle logistics provider in Spain. The JV - Bergé Gefco - will offer more than 3 million sqm of space for storing up to 120,000 vehicles, along with a fleet of 700 trucks, 100 railcar wagons and 40'000 sqm of workshop space.
Bergé Gefco, owned 50-50 by the two partners, has now received full regulatory approval to operate in Spain. The new company will cover all logistics needs for both new and second-hand vehicles.
In the second-hand vehicles’ segment, the JV will be the only provider capable of managing all logistics and commercial services with its own resources. Its solutions for vehicle manufacturers, leasing companies and resellers will include transport, warehousing, technical services, inspections, refurbishments, delivery, trading, sales management, administration and fleet management.
