Belgian carrier continues steel transports
Lineas has extended its partnership with NLMK Europe. The Belgian railfreight operator will continue to drive the majority of train services for the global steel company's Belgian and French operations for the coming years. The partnership goes back around twenty years, with Lineas transporting slabs and coils for NLMK (previously Duferco) between its sites all over Europe.
Lineas will provide at least 38 regular trains per week between Ghent and the NLMK sites in Clabecq and La Louvière, as well as regular train transports to the NLMK site in Strasbourg, France and customers in various European countries.
On Sunday, 13 December 2021, Lineas France celebrated its tenth anniversary. Since its foundation, the French subsidiary of the Lineas Group has grown to more than 200 employees and 32 locomotives, offering railfreight services all over the country. (ben)
