Battery delivery from Korea to Poland in 19 days
Arriving from Korea, the second full-length block train loaded with accumulator batteries for LGChem was dispatched from the berth of the Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company at Vostochny port in Russia to Wroclaw in Poland.
The train consists of reefer containers connected to an uninterrupted power supply system that guarantees the correct temperatures throughout the journey.
Transcontainer, based in Russia, organises the service together with Korean Pantos Logistics within their programme for the development of transit freight routes.
Transit time of the two first test trains from Busan in Korea to Małaszewiczein Poland was 19 days. This is twice faster than deep-sea delivery. The companies have now launched a regular service, Transcontainer said. (ben)
