Barcelona–Bettembourg ro-mo service launched
Barcelona–Bettembourg ro-mo service launched Lorry Rail, a subsidiary of SNCF group, CFL and Lohr industries, has introduced a new line connecting the Barcelona Can Tunis (Spain) and Bettembourg (Luxembourg) intermodal terminals.
It is the 5th rolling motorway operated by VIIA Lorry Rail for transporting unaccompanied semi-trailers and the first piggyback service from Spain. It is also the first train service for P400 semi-trailers from the Iberian peninsula.
The service offers five weekly round trips between Barcelona and Bettembourg, across a distance of 1,219 km. From April 2019, six round trips per week will be available, with an estimated journey time of 22 hours. (ben)
