Azerbaijan and Russia join forces on Eurasian route
Russian Railways and Azerbaijan Railways have signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop a comprehensive cooperation in the railway sector.
In particular, the partners will implement joint activities that will contribute to the growth of freight traffic on the Iran – Azerbaijan – Russia - Europe routes.
The two railways also agreed jointly to attract additional cargo for container trains along the Eurasian north-south corridor, as well as between Azerbaijan and China in transit through Russia. To reduce freight delivery time, it is also planned to streamline border and customs procedures. (ben)
