Automating paperless customs handling
Kazakhstan has launched a digital platform to improve customs processing at its Chinese frontier. The software is designed for the automatic submission and issuance of transit declarations for goods transported by rail along China - Central Asia and China – Europe routes. It simplifies and speeds up electronic transit declaration processes.
Initial results show that the goods pass through customs within 30 minutes. The pilot will continue until it is put into industrial operation and is approved by the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries involved in the transit, Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) said. (ben)
