Australia: Linfox buys Aurizon’s intermodal business
Aurizon has sold its Queensland Intermodal business to logistics company Linfox. Linfox has now secured leases and access to freight terminals across Queensland. It has also taken ownership of a fleet of trucks, trailers and rail wagons for intermodal containers, together with heavy lift equipment such as forklifts and gantry cranes.
Around 190 Aurizon employees have transferred to Linfox. As part of the deal, Aurizon’s bulk business will provide Linfox rail line-haul services between Brisbane and Cairns under a separate ten-year hook and pull contract. (ben)
