Australia: 100% paperless truck entry
ACFS Port Logistics (ACFS) is launching two paperless gate entry points at Port Botany, NSW, Australia. On Wednesday, 24 January 2024, ACFS e-Depot Port Botany will introduce optical camera recognition (OCR) and licence plate recognition (LPR), along with Camco technology gate entry processing for trucks.
According to ACFS, these upgrades will bring several benefits for the transport operators. In addition to increasing security and reducing emissions, the new technology will shorten truck turnaround times by as much as 30% - in other words, by five to ten minutes per truck under a 24hrs / 5 day operation.
