Aurrigo unveils autonomous cargo vehicle

Aurrigo International presented its latest innovation, the ‘Auto-Cargo’, during an event in Coventry (England) recently.

Developed with Innovate UK, CCAV, UPS and East Midlands airport, the fully electric, autonomous vehicle can carry up to 16.5 t of cargo. Designed to move heavy loads at airports, an ‘Auto-Cargo’ will soon enter service at UPS’ hub at East Midlands airport, the UK’s second-largest air cargo terminal.

Featuring real-time fleet coordination and obstacle detection, the vehicle aims to improve safety and efficiency while reducing emissions.

“The ‘Auto-Cargo’ marks another milestone for Aurrigo and strengthens our footprint in the cargo sector,” said CEO David Keene.

Based in Coventry, Aurrigo specialises in autonomous and electric vehicle solutions for aviation, ground handling and urban mobility. (ah)
