Augmented in Australia, new in New Zealand

Swissport is expanding its air cargo handling operations with new facilities in Melbourne and Sydney and its first location in Auckland (New Zealand), which is set to open next month. The move was designed to enhance capacities, efficiency and service quality for airlines and forwarders.

“Our expansion supports growing demand for air cargo in Australia and New Zealand,” general manager for cargo Joel Greig said. The new temperature-controlled centres feature direct airside access, express delivery transport and advanced X-ray screening.

Swissport’s 9,400 sqm Melbourne facility is closest to airside, while Sydney’s expanded site now spans 4,500 sqm, handling perishables, pharmaceuticals, mail and express shipments.

Swissport is also entering New Zealand’s cargo market, equipping Auckland airport with advanced X-ray screening and rapid processing capabilities. (ah)
