App helps avoid accidents
Hoyer continues to invest in safety equipment. The haulier is now planning to install the "near miss blackspot" app, which is currently being developed for truck transports in Germany. The software uses a telematics system to document and assess critical or accident-prone highway areas. The app helps adapt truck route planning in good time in order to avoid getting into potentially dangerous situations in the first place.
Hoyer has been proactively investing in safety equipment for a long time and has already been using the app for proactive accident avoidance in UK since 2021.
A large part of the fleet, which was equipped with 500 new trucks as recently as 2020, is already fitted with active turning assistants. (ben)
