Another bridgehead on the north-south axis
SBB Cargo International has founded SBB Cargo Nederland, a wholly-owned subsidiary which will further strengthen the company’s position in the European network. Subsidiaries already exist in Germany and Italy.
Service quality will be improved thanks to cross-border operation and scheduling of trains on the entire Netherlands-Italy axis. At the same time, dependence on third parties will be reduced. SBB Cargo International will continue to rely on its long-standing cooperation partners such as shunting service providers.
The new branch is based in Rotterdam. SBB Cargo International has a market leadership of almost 40% on the north-south axis through Switzerland. (ben)
