Almost 940,000 truck consignments by rail
Kombiverkehr continues to grow: the intermodal operator transported 9.3% more shipments in 2021. 937,959 truck shipments or 1.88 million teu were thud transferred from road and sea to climate-friendly rail.
Kombiverkehr’s performance improved in all transport sectors last year. The company reported rises of 3.2% in services to and from the German Baltic ports (83.486 truck consignments) and 8.5% in international traffic (663,949 truck consignments). Nationwide services within Germany even achieved a double-digit growth of 15.4% (190,521 truck consignments).
The increase in traffic volumes also helped Kombiverkehr’s customers reduce their CO2 footprint: customers saved 1,107,600 t of emissions in 2021, 100 t more than in 2020. (ben)
