Almost 5,000 new wagons join fleet
The Russian transport group, Globaltrans, increased its investment in fleet expansion in 2018 due to the continued solid demand for bulk cargo transport and the group’s ability to secure additional railcars at attractive prices.
On top of the 3,900 wagons initially targeted, the group acquired an extra 847 units. Together they increased the company's rolling stock fleet by 4,747 units in 2018, equating to 8% of the group’s owned fleet.
The additional wagons provide much-needed capacity to support Globaltrans's development this year. The acquired fleet includes 3,862 gondola cars, 481 flat cars and 404 containers. The group now has about 66,000 units at its disposal. (ben)
