Alliance one of USA's top 20 cargo airports
Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport (AFW) has been named one of the USA's top 20 US cargo airports ranked by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Moving up three spots in the rankings, AFW landed more than 1.1 billion kg in 2021, a volume increase of 45.75% from the previous year.
According to the airport’s operations data for 2021, AFW experienced a 43% year-over-year volume increase in cargo transported. The airport reported 358,079,265 kg of cargo enplaning and deplaning at AFW in 2021, compared to 249,821,532 kg in 2020.
Fedex’s Alliance, TX-based Southwest Regional Sort Hub is ranked third in USA in terms of square metres of sortation and handling facilities.
AFW is also home to one of Amazon Air’s regional air hubs enabling wider selection and faster delivery to customers across Texas and the region. (cj)
