Agroexpress with satellite tracking

Russian Railways Logistics (RZDL) has transported citrus fruit from China to Russia by rail for the first time with its Agroexpress service. One delivery of mandarins was loaded onto the railway in Chengxiang (Cehngdu) and reached Selyatino, west of Moscow, after eleven days.

The fruit was transported in electronically upgraded refrigerated containers from RZDL. The technical system enables not only temperature and humidity control, but also location tracking via satellite.

RZDL says that the upgraded refrigerated containers may be located by satellite throughout the entire territory of the Russian Federation. (ben)
