Adopt mobility package 1 now!
Sixteen road haulage associations across Europe urgently call for the finalisation of the legislative procedure on the mobility package 1. After three years of legislative work, the package awaits final approval in the European parliament.
This will provide a harmonised European framework, a better level playing field and fairer competition between road haulage companies, said the associations, stressing that: "We can no longer afford to waste time when other big challenges like innovation, digitalisation, clean energy and clean transport lie ahead."
The hauliers added that the current Covid-19 crisis is all the more reason to adopt the package now to ensure clarity and harmonised rules for the European road haulage sector in these difficult times. (ben)
