A Texan trucking terminal
Saia, a USA-based road logistics provider, has launched a new terminal in Laredo, Texas. Designed for freight forwarding operations, the site will enable onsite warehousing as well as cross-border distribution.
After recent expansions in Montana, New Jersey, and Utah, Saia is now looking to strengthen its presence in Texas. As one of two gateway terminals to Mexico, the site is set to facilitate cross-border operations, including pool distribution and truckload services. For this, Saia has partnered up with Fletes Mexico.
All in all, the company plans to open 16 new terminals are this year. With its new hub in Laredo, Saia hopes to boost the local economy by opening up various job opportunities and improving the shipping network in the region. Hiring has begun for drivers, dockworkers, and other office or sales positions. (mk)
