A takeover in Greenland
Eimskip Greenland has acquired the port agency Royal Arctic Line (Royal Arctic Spedition) in Greenland. Eimskip has been operating a freight forwarding office in Nuuk in Greenland since 2020.
This newest takeover will strengthen Eimskip’s position in its home market in the North Atlantic and its service portfolio in the Greenland market.
For Vilhelm Már Þorsteinsson, CEO, Eimskip, the company is “confident that this acquisition will create new growth opportunities and contribute to developing Eimskip’s dynamic and diverse operation in the area.” Indeed, freight forwarding services, and agency services for vessels calling Greenland, such as cruise ships and trawlers, are already planned.
