A double acquisition in Italy
European logistics provider Walden Group has acquired two companies in Italy, thus expanding its service portfolio in the healthcare and pharma sectors. Unitex, which specialises in pharmaceuticals and medical goods, will be integrated into Walden’s subsidiary, Eurotranspharma.
With its two key hubs in Milan and Naples and further regional locations, Unitex will extend Walden’s network in the entire country. The second acquisition, XCM Healthcare, will now be part of Movianto, another Walden subsidiary in Europe. Movianto will benefit from XCM Healthcare’s industry-specific expertise in the warehousing and storage of pharma products.
Both takeovers will give Walden Group a gateway into the Italian healthcare market and support for its subsidiaries. The group is now geared to continue adding to its European portfolio and reaching new customers. (mk)
