A direct train from Genoa to Southern Germany
On 4 May 2023, the logistics company PSA Italy is launching the first direct express train connection between southern Germany and the Italian coast.
The new train, up to 500 m long, will transport containers from Genoa to Stuttgart in less than 24 hours. It offers a sustainable alternative to road transport.
The "Stuttgart Express" is the second international container rail service to be operated by PSA Italy directly from the Genova Pra' Terminal.
The "Southern Express" has been running three times a week between the port of Genoa and Frenkendorf near Basel in Switzerland since 2018. This route has already saved 83% of carbon emissions and 49% of energy consumption. (ben)
