A cocktail of automated logistics solutions
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and Symbotic have formed a partnership to deploy Symbotic’s robotics warehouse automation systems in some Southern Glazer distribution centres. The implementation is planned for 2025.
Southern Glazer’s is a US-based alcoholic beverage distributor, which was named the USA’s best managed company by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal in 2021.
Symbiotic specialises in AI-powered logistics solutions for food and drink companies and the development of automation system in warehousing. Its system features robotic case picking capabilities, improving fill rates, order accuracy and customer service times. The system will build mixed-case pallets for efficient route-stop delivery in cases of both high velocity and slow-moving inventory. (mk)
