A butterfly for Morocco
CMA CGM’s short sea lines division is strengthening its links to the Maghreb. Its new butterfly Morocco shuttle service will commence as from week 45 between ports of Morocco, France, and Spain. The weekly service (starting ex Agadir on 10 November 2022) between Agadir & Port Vendres also addresses the upcoming fresh produce, fruit & vegetables season.
According to the liner, the new shuttle will allow a 75% CO2 emissions savings compared to the traditional truck modal on this corridor.
Two vessels of 1,100 teu with 220 reefer plugs per unit will be deployed. The port rotation will be Agadir, Port Vendres, Barcelona, Algeciras, Tanger Med, Casablanca and back to Agadir. The transit time between Agadir and Port Vendres will be 3.5 days. (sh)
