27 freight wagons for Turkish railways
The wagons were produced by manufacturer Türasas in Eskisehir, Turkey and were recently delivered to TCDD. The state-owned rail company will use them mainly to transport containers. Each of the new wagons can load two 40-foot containers and carry a total load of up to 108 t.
The vehicles were registered in accordance with TSI (interoperability technical specifications) standards, which allows an international use. Thanks to their short design, more wagons can be connected to a train series, thus enabling more efficient train operation, Türasas said. The manufacturer plans to increase the production of wagons to 200 units by 2025 and 480 by 2026. (ben)
