165 e-trucks to replace diesel-powered vehicles
XPO Logistics has commissioned the vehicles -105 tractors and 60 rigids - from Renault. The trucks will help to lower the company’s greenhouse gas emission in France by 25% by 2025.
XPO plans to carry out around 25% of its deliveries in France with electric vehicles by 2030, cutting its CO2 emissions by more than 26,000 t. The new trucks are to replace the company’s diesel-powered fleet in short-haul areas.
The e-trucks operate without directly producing CO2 emissions and considerably reduce noise and air pollution, which will help XPO to transform its fleet in compliance with forthcoming regulations on deliveries in urban areas. (ben)
