15.3 million consignments in corona year
German general cargo cooperation IDS Logistik has weathered the corona year well. Compared to the previous year, it increased its turnover by 4.3% to EUR 2.43 billion and transported 15.3 million consignments, 4.1% up from 2019. Consignment volumes in domestic business grew by 5.1%.
IDS invested particularly in digitisation projects in 2020. For instance, it developed its own software for consignment handling and installed it in all IDS depots. It also began to equip all 4,800 swap bodies with GPS solar modules.
In the current business year, IDS will continue driving its digitisation projects forward and develop specific logistics solutions for the energy transition. (ben)
